Sean Smith April 14, 2003, 09:13 AM Do you have evidence of this? I ask because Kimber discontinued a bunch of their .40 S&W 1911s. It would be neat if they did, but it seems kinda unlikely to me... if you can't sell a .40 S&W gun, you sure can't sell a 10mm gun. Cool if true, though. Maybe Dan Wesson scared 'em with the Razorback. :D Guntalk April 14, 2003, 11:17 AM >>Do you have evidence of this?<< Yes. Expect it this summer. Kimber will be doing several limited runs this year. Some interesting offerings, too. 10-Ring April 14, 2003, 11:26 AM a 10mm Kimber? Cool! Grayrider April 14, 2003, 12:27 PM Tom, Thank you for the good news! I have an RZ on order, but I am glad to see another company make an offering in my favorite caliber. It will be interesting to see what Kimber cooks up. GR Guntalk April 14, 2003, 12:33 PM In building a new plant (they now have two factories), Kimber has much more production capacity. They are very interested in doing limited runs. It might be worthwhile to watch their web site every month or so to see what's new. www.kimberamerica.com agtman April 14, 2003, 07:30 PM Kimber 10mm .... ... I like the idea, even if it is only a "limited" run. :) cratz2 April 14, 2003, 09:35 PM Variety is always a good thing but I plan on buying a Dan Wesson 10mm later this year. I've been looking for the right deal on the right Delta Elite or Gold Cup but my patience has grown thin. Keep hearing plenty of good things about the Razorbacks, too. 12-34hom April 14, 2003, 09:35 PM To bad Dan Wesson beat them to the punch...:neener: 12-34hom. Stevie-Ray April 14, 2003, 09:50 PM Crap. Now I'm gonna hafta buy a CDP Ultra in .38 $uper also. DeltaElite April 14, 2003, 09:58 PM Grog want, Grog want, Grog wants one.......... or more. :D Cal4D4 April 15, 2003, 02:32 AM Wonder if Kimber will bother to get limited run items **** certified? Guntalk April 15, 2003, 07:01 AM Hmmm. I don't know about the California certification issue. Here's the deal. Kimber will announce (though I don't know through what channels) a variation which will be a limited run. They will take orders. Then they will turn on the machines and make that many guns. Might be 300. Might be 1000. Probably one or two day's worth of production. Then the machines are turned off and set up for something else. If you miss the opportunity, you're SOL. I'm sure we will be able to have each announcement on the radio. Grayrider April 15, 2003, 08:53 AM Tom, Please post more info as you find out. Love your show, but I don't always get to catch it when it is on here in the Ozarks. While you are at it maybe they can send you one to review--seems only fair. :) GR Guntalk April 15, 2003, 09:26 AM >>I don't always get to catch it when it is on here in the Ozarks.<< The shows are archived on the web site, so you can go back and listen to the ones you missed. Glad to hear there's someone out there listening! Climb14er April 15, 2003, 09:35 AM <Here's the deal. Sounds to me that the folks at Dan Wesson are putting a lot of 'heart and soul' into the limited production run of 150. Been hearing good reports from the owners of the newly released Razorbacks. Hope KImber gets it right. Do you think they will be using external extractors? Guntalk April 15, 2003, 10:13 AM >>Do you think they will be using external extractors?<< Ah! Do you have a pipeline into the company? Grayrider April 15, 2003, 01:59 PM That was the first thing I was wondering. Second is will they use a ramped barrel? GR Sean Smith April 15, 2003, 02:40 PM My guess is that they would use the same barrels they used in .40, and just ream them to accept 10mm. Those were ramped barrels, btw. bowhunter April 17, 2003, 10:16 PM oh man a Kimber in 10mm Himmmm might have to put one of these on my get list :D Joe blades67 April 18, 2003, 12:45 AM Papa needs a new gun!:D Byron Quick April 18, 2003, 08:37 PM I'll keep an eye out, Tom. I've got one of the limited edition Razorbacks on order...#071. I love my Kimber Gold Match, it might be lonely. AndABeer April 18, 2003, 09:03 PM Kimber II :barf: Airwolf April 19, 2003, 12:51 AM Given the apparently *very* limited run I think all of us behind enemy lines here in the PRK can guess what the chances are of getting Kimber to jump through the Caliban's "certification" hoops to approve this... Slim, fat and none. :banghead: :cuss: As of this time the ONLY 10mm's "approved" for us peasants, er, taxpayer units are... drumroll please: Glock 20, 20C & 29 S&W 610-3 That's all folks! :cuss: :cuss: :cuss: :barf: Cal4D4 April 19, 2003, 01:44 AM So you say there is a chance! (As in the line from "Dumb and Dumber") MCNETT April 22, 2003, 01:08 PM Kimber 10mm, sounds like a good addition to my 10mm collection! -Mike COHIBA April 22, 2003, 05:02 PM as long as it's a series 2, i wouldnt use it for a paperwieght. dev_null April 22, 2003, 06:34 PM I'd prefer a Series I, but if it works as well as my Custom Classic, I'd settle for a S-II. -0- Sean Smith April 22, 2003, 07:36 PM My understanding is that disabling the S2 safety is pretty simple. MiniZ April 23, 2003, 10:55 PM I would be one happy guy if this comes to fruition. Frohickey April 23, 2003, 11:08 PM Kimber Series II... :barf: Its not that easy to defeat. You have to remove the rear sight to remove all of the parts. Gordy Wesen April 24, 2003, 12:26 AM I want a single stack 10mm Glock - similar to the 36. 9x19 April 24, 2003, 12:38 AM Frohickey, Nope, not hard at all.... just replace the Series II firing pin with a standard model, as it cannot be blocked by the other parts. :D
