Kimber 10mm?

Could happen this year.

They already are making a .38 Super version.

Do you have evidence of this?

I ask because Kimber discontinued a bunch of their .40 S&W 1911s. It would be neat if they did, but it seems kinda unlikely to me... if you can't sell a .40 S&W gun, you sure can't sell a 10mm gun.

Cool if true, though. Maybe Dan Wesson scared 'em with the Razorback. :D

Yes. Expect it this summer.

Kimber will be doing several limited runs this year. Some interesting offerings, too.

Thank you for the good news! I have an RZ on order, but I am glad to see another company make an offering in my favorite caliber. It will be interesting to see what Kimber cooks up.

In building a new plant (they now have two factories), Kimber has much more production capacity.

They are very interested in doing limited runs.

It might be worthwhile to watch their web site every month or so to see what's new.

Variety is always a good thing but I plan on buying a Dan Wesson 10mm later this year. I've been looking for the right deal on the right Delta Elite or Gold Cup but my patience has grown thin. Keep hearing plenty of good things about the Razorbacks, too.

Here's the deal.

Kimber will announce (though I don't know through what channels) a variation which will be a limited run. They will take orders.

Then they will turn on the machines and make that many guns. Might be 300. Might be 1000. Probably one or two day's worth of production.

Then the machines are turned off and set up for something else. If you miss the opportunity, you're SOL.

I'm sure we will be able to have each announcement on the radio.

If this is the case, and with Kimber's producing many,many 1911's, what will the quality be of the limited production run?

Sounds to me that the folks at Dan Wesson are putting a lot of 'heart and soul' into the limited production run of 150. Been hearing good reports from the owners of the newly released Razorbacks.

Hope KImber gets it right. Do you think they will be using external extractors?

My guess is that they would use the same barrels they used in .40, and just ream them to accept 10mm. Those were ramped barrels, btw.

as long as it's a series 2, i wouldnt use it for a paperwieght.

I'd prefer a Series I, but if it works as well as my Custom Classic, I'd settle for a S-II.

My understanding is that disabling the S2 safety is pretty simple.

I would be one happy guy if this comes to fruition.

Its not that easy to defeat. You have to remove the rear sight to remove all of the parts.

I want a single stack 10mm Glock - similar to the 36.

Nope, not hard at all.... just replace the Series II firing pin with a standard model, as it cannot be blocked by the other parts. :D
