Just got a new Witness Match - my first 10mm - but prolly not my last! Great round: easy to load, very accurate, and tons (OK, joules) of energy if you want to load that way. The pistol is a great value for the money, a little rough around the edges, and it had a couple of gremlins to work out - but I am very pleased! Who knows, might just have to sell my SIG!

Is this too big??

I wouldnt think its any bigger than a 1911 and people, sometimes even myself, carry those all the time.

Welcome to the 10mm "trap". You'll not be the first one to fall under the cartridge's spell! We have you now! :what: :neener:

How much did you pay for yours, and did you buy straight from EAA?

Looking at the Witness in 2 dimensions, one might think that might be as concealable as a 1911, but when you compare the width of the Witness to the 1911, the 1911 is more than a bit thinner.

In my experience, length and height of a pistol play something of a factor in the concealability of a handgun, but the girth of a gun is far more critical. I have carried 3rd Generation S&W, SIG P-series, and even an XD9 Service, and none of them conceal as well as my full size SW1911 or 1991Commander. I am not saying it is impossible, but I would compare the Witness to the more full size wondernines and double stack .45s available (CZ97, Para).

Love "The Ten."

Gotta Glock 20, but somehow predict a Witness somewhere in my future.

Feed her right, Double Tap or equivelent, and it'll leave ya smilin'.

I think he meant is the picture too big, but on the topic of CCW it can be done with the Match. I have at times carried mine in an HBE Leatherworks DC Special. It was made for the Elite Stock, but the slightly longer Match fits good enough to work. Really he mass is more a problem. I find that after lugging it around a bit my pants are dragging.

nice one, grayrider.
I like the tu-tone finish. And, the 10 is a great round. Nice choice.

Sorry, I was questioning the picture size!

I did a side-by-side comparision of the Witness to my SIG 226 - I was suprised that the witness is about 1" longer. Fits my hand just great! Single action only; no grip safety.

I don't plan on carrying this - target/sd use only. Too big, too heavy and too many sharp edges for carry purposes.

Accuracy - without trying very hard, I was getting about 4" groups at 15 yrds offhand, kinda rapid fire. That's a lot of horsepower when you're dumping 15 rounds or so!

I had to get this thru my local dealer, not from EAA. Also just ordered a 20lbs spring - many of the cases ended way up on the side berm!

The Witness 10mm's are known for somewhat violent ejection. Running my full power handloads, my compact model will throw brass 25-30 feet. I have also managed to shatter a couple of flourescent lights at the local indoor range.

That is a sharp looking gun. I've seen them floating around for around 300 new at gun shows for the very base models. I've had zero experience with the 10mm and I hope that will be fixed in the near future.

Welcome to the Club!!! I love my Witness 10mm MATCH, mine has been flawless in hundreds of mixed 10mm reloads. All I did was add a 22lb. Wolf Recoil springs along with the included firing pin spring.

BTW, for those that are curious, I got mine for around $480, I think retail is $579. Love the nice combination lock hard case that comes with it.

Very nice-looking Witness, Dave P! Reminiscent of the Bren Ten IMO. Glad to know you're happy with it.

Hey guys I just noticed there is a 10mm Match on Guns America for $479. Not a bad price at all. There are not many around so better run over there if you want one. I don't know what EAAs inventory is like. I can ask if anyone wants.

:D

Mine is insanely accurate. I put around 38 rounds through a hole measuring 1" x .5" at around 12 yards from a standing position. I know I had 38 rounds in the hole based on where I was in a 50 round box, and had a few loose rounds on hand I ran through a mag so it was a little over that. Pretty good even for that close. I need to post that target. It is still sitting on my work bench waiting for me to take a picture.

I also have one of the new P-Carry's in 10mm on the way, with the accessory rail. I will post a review once it is in. This will be my first polymer pistol from Tanfoglio, so I am not sure what to expect. It will make a very handy carry gun given the dimensions and weight.
