Broke my first law yesterday

No!! Wait!!!
I don't have to worry about the CA DOJ approved list or 10 round magazine restrictions anymore. I'm still okay. Whew!:neener:

Picked up a NIB CZ75 Semi-compact with 2 16-round magazines yesterday, ordered through Auction Arms. I'm pleased but a bit surprised since I thought I'd bought a CZ75C (compact with 14-round magazines.) I think the seller will be surprised too when he reads my e-mail. :uhoh: (Next time he may read the label on the box.)

The price seems fair and I get two extra bangs per magazine so I imagine it'll work out. It does give me an excuse to buy another gun if I find myself needing one (an excuse not a gun).

Or on reareading do you mean you got out of occupied territory (CA) so now you can legally have full cap mags?

He lists his location as MT. I think he escaped from California.

If it hasn't been done yet, welcome to MT.

What part did you settle in? There are a few people here from MT. The problem is that the state is so big, I don't know if we will ever get a shoot together.

Intimidation, scare tactics and brain washing that abounds in
Cal when a pro gun enthusiast, are hard to shake once one
gets over the "wall" to free areas. I'm still here under the iron
skirts of Corruptfornia, and can only long for his waking to a
new sense of freedom. If one doubts this, just remember it
was the CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL that went to NOLA
forcibly disarming citizens. If they'll go there to do it, imagine
what it could be like here in an emer.

Yup. When I was younger, I moved from Boston to Colorado. I was SHOCKED to see air pistols out on the shelves where you could pick them up (plastic packaging, of course). In Massachusetts you needed a Firearms Owner Identification Card (FOIC), which usually took about 6 months to get, in order to by a BB gun. As I was not 21 yet, I couldn't even buy an air pistol with my FOIC...yet in Colorado they were on the store shelves!

Pretty ridiculous when I think about it, but living under King Kennedy's thumb really conditioned you to think that these restricions were acceptable. Now, of course, I believe all gun control is unConstitutional.

Isn't freedom wonderful?

Be warned, though. After a taste of it you'll find it impossible to tolerate the more draconian blue states.

OK Montanan's, I'm in Great Falls. Who wants to get together when? When I moved to this state, I was surprised to find out that what we called liberals in Wyoming, were actually conservatives here in Montana!

900F,

Do you belong to any of the clubs that use the new shooting range they built down there?

I am in Browning, so a 2 hr drive isn't out of the question for a get together. In some places you wouldn't even think of a 2 hr drive as being short, but here it is considered a run to the store.

Well, as soon as the weather warms up I would invite ya'll to my place, but it looks like I may be going to work in MI for a few months :(

I don't have a centerfire rifle range setup, but I do have a nice little place behind the house in a natural bowl that is great for pistol and 22 rimfire (about 50 yds). And lots of ground to park an RV or set up a tent :)

Maybe someday ..............

I'm on the west side of Billings. I'd enjoy meeting some other folks here to do some shooting. And, Yes, I certainly recognize the size of this state. I also understand that a two hour drive is just something you do to pop over to a friend's house for a snack. I've made that kind of 2 hour drive (each way) more times than I can count. Greater rewards merit longer drives.

(BTW - I also bought two handguns in less than 30 days. I'm keeping this new pistol and magazines locked up and am watching closely to be sure they don't try anything evil on their own.)

I am envious. Montana is beautiful. I'm still stuck in the C.S.S.R. However, a relocate to Idaho or Montana is eminent.

I wish I wouldn't have left, although I may be back this summer. I grew up in Baker although I would be going back to Hardin or Bighorn Canyon/Yellowtail.

I was in a gunshop a year or so ago and overheard an interesting conversation. It seems that a nice couple moved up here from the Chicago area and both were absolutely ecstatic that the salesman let not only see real handguns but handle them as well. I heard something about FOID cards being mentioned and that they weren't allowed to buy a handgun where they previously lived. It was like watching children on Christmas morning. :D

What claims to be conservatives in NY most people in the free states call liberals. :banghead: One of these days I will escape !

I find it kind of interesting how we have "free" states and "slave" states, much like there where in the first half of the 19th century. Enjoy the freedon.
