Okay, so I admit I watch Blind Date on TNN. :p

It's absolutely hilarious. A couple goes on a blind date with the tv show cameraman following them around, and then they tell all afterwards.

I've always wondered why none of them took their dates to the range. Well, my wish was answered.

This guy takes his date on a helicopter ride, and then he takes her to an indoor shooting range. She empties a Glock into a man silhouette. He says "you did a good job aiming at the crotch."

At the end of the date, she is completely ga-ga for him. He wasn't so enthused because she brought her dog along and it got gassy in the car.

He needs more range time unless he was just practicing his "gut shot defense"

LOL now there's a blind date that will either scare them away, or.... them end up out shooting you.

I think Id rather stick to taking dates to play air hockey, skee ball, or pool. safer and well she's going to make me look bad at all three of the above without my manilyness being in question :p

Bowl, well, actually shooting is a very effective date. Many women are interested but have never been for a variety of reasons and are very interested in it.

Maybe not a first date, but very effective. They like to talk about it with their friends.

i think there was another episode of blind date where they went shooting, IIRC the girl was from texas and was raised hunting.

not to hijack this thread, but now that we've brought up the shooting sports seen on tv, comedy centrals "insomniac" frequently goes to firing ranges that are open all night. was great to see the one armed shooter on the skeet range. and dave attel doesnt appear to shoot that bad with a glock either. he had one flier on a silhouette, and he says "well thats in case the bad guy has a parrot on his shoulder", good for a laugh.

There was one episode of that show where one person goes out with three members of the opposite sex gets rid of them one by one. One time they went to a shooting range.

I took a date to the range on a first date.

I handed her my M1A, gave her 5 bullets, pointed at the steel plate at 100 years, and said "If I don't hear at least 4 pings, no second date!"

She was nervous as heck, but she got all 5 shots on the plate..

Afterwards, she handed me 10 bullets, and said "If _I_ don't hear at least 9 pings, no second date." :D

The range is the best plate for a date..

Bringing a dog on a first date is not an auspicious begining.

twoblink, didn't you get suspicious when she started dropping all her shots into the berm, the floor, and the clubhouse ceiling? ;)

Seriously though, my first date with my wife (of course I didn't know that then) was shooting. She did pretty darn good, having never shot before. We still have her first target up on a wall.
