I bought a steel framed 45acp Witness and noticed that around the base of the mags, above the floor plate, there is a loop of spring steel wire, that wraps around the mag. It isn't attached to the mag just slid around it. Any ideas on a purpose?

I have no idea what that might be.
I never saw anything like it, so I assume it's just a piece of wire that somehow found it's way there.

Who knows?

Weird thing is I got 2 mags with it and both have the wire. They fit snug to the mag body.

For this one, I'd call or email European American Armory, assuming the magazines are factory.

Do they have a triangle with a "T" inside it on the lower right hand side? With a red follower?

On my CZ97 b there is a space between the grip and the floor plate. It may be for a cz to lower the stress on the mag catch???

No T, one has Tanfoglio on the bottom. I don't see where it really does anything, it isn't hooked to mags.

I used to know what those were for and have completely forgotten. I think it had something to do with the spacer that can be put on the magazines to fill in the space when they are used on polymer compact models. I will try to remember to ask.
