Some relatively new gains... s&w 15-4, beretta 950 .22 short, webley .455(.45 moon clips), a zastava (that I refinished) .32...
The -15 shoots better than I do...

Matt,
I've always admired the Webley. I had a friend years ago that had one and let me use it on the range a few times. That was more than thirty years ago now. Question: Does anyone still make the .455 ammo for these things? I've seen the guns themselves advertised, but since they're all around 60-ish years old or better, i don't know what the availability of the ammo might be anymore. ( I don't want to get a "safe queen" by default, if i ever do get myself one, i'd like to be able to use it some, 'yaknow? )
Also: What is your estimate of a fair price for one that's in as good a condition as yours appears to be?
Thanks!
Lou

Just F.Y.I. about Webleys, 90% of the .455 Webley's in the US (unless it is a a museum piece) will have had the rear of the cylinder machined off to accept .45 ACP with moon clips. Personally I think it is horrible to machine a historic gun like that, but most were done post WWII on importation to the US. Despite having been cut on, the Webley is a great gun and should have no problem firing .45 ACP

Thanks for the heads-up on the Webleys, I didn't know that about them. One thing i'm sure of is that the one my friend let me use years ago hadn't had that done to it. I presume this has been done over the intervening years because of availability issues with ammo? What a shame. Do you have any info as to how this affects the ejection of spent shells when you break it open? Do you now have to manually remove them, or can the gun still eject them out in these moon clips?

fiocchi still makes .455... they'll take .45 auto rimmed as well. I shot it a week ago and was suprised to have the expended brass in half-moons shoot over my shoulder upon opening the action... Most of the conversions to these ( I believe ) was dont in the 50's and 60's when they were first imported... I've seen some old ads from magazines for them (at $12.95 price if I recall right)
I got it at a local shop on consign, for 165 plus tax... really good, considering most got for 300-ish from what I've seen; There are no import marks on it either...

Another Zastava owner, here I was thinking I was the only one lured to old, $100 guns.
I really like mine, the slide showed some pitting but man the barrel looked brand new. I have put about 50 rounds thru mine with 2 failures, I suspect its my grip - this thing can bite you if you dont watch out.

I got two, and refinished the worse of the two... came out good. I've shot 200 rounds out of each... not a problem yet.
