Well guys tax money is in, and Im wondering..Im interested in three choices..
A Romania AK47, An SKS, or a Mossberg shotgun...what do you guys think I should go for..I like all three so I just need some extra input..

Depends on what you want to do.

Do you own any other centerfire rifles or shotguns?

If you don't own a shotgun, I would recommend it first. I own a Mossberg and it's a quite nice piece, although the 28" barrel is a bit long. I need to put an 18" cylinder bore on there eventually.

If you do have a shotgun but no rifle, I'd go for the AK47 over the SKS. I'm just not a big SKS fan, if you're gonna shoot an intermediate cartridge, don't put it in a full-size rifle.

If this is totally for fun, I'd again go for the AK47. 30-round mags + reasonably cheap ammo = a fun day at the range for all! :evil:

PS - you might want to look into the Saiga AK sporter rifles. They're very high-quality Russian guns, which only need a little modification if you want a pistol grip and high cap mags and aren't expensive.

I'd go for the AK first. most likely to be harder to get in future years. I gotta ask, why would you get an AK and a SKS? (and I'm not a AK/SKS knowledgeable person, so be gentle:o )

AK, lots of mags, lots of ammo. (cases of it)

Well, the most versatile would be the shotgun...especially if you want something for HD & SHTF...After that, or instead of (if you have a HD gun already) would be an SKS...As far as I'm concerned they're as practical as moct of the current AKs. as well as more accurate, and cheaper to boot.

You could go for a combination of #1 and #3...get a Saiga shotgun.
