The Lead Sled is a new recoil absorbing device. I just purchased one recently and I really like it because it removes the recoil flinching during sight ins. Of course with any new product, there are critics; die hard traditionalists who claim that a person can't learn to shoot right without the presence of a recoil kick. Of course I disagree with that idea. I think that accurate shot placement is more important and that begins with an accurate zero.

Are there any other shooters who have used this device? The link above goes to a forum that represents pro and con opinions about the Lead Sled.

I picked up one last Fall and have been using it since. I mainly picked it up to use while working up heavy loads in a Marlin 450 levergun. I'm shooting 400 to 520 grain bullets and the abuse my body would suffer during these range sessions to find accurate loads would eventually cripple me shooting from a bench due to the sustained heavy recoil. One shooting session off a shooting bench from my shoulder with these loads convinced me that I needed to do someting else. I wouldn't be able to do what I'm doing without it. I like mine.

Ranger I use a Bench Master that is made here in MT. Never have used the Lead Sled but see that it's on sale at Midway. But the concept of lugging 75lbs of lead to my public bench to lay on my shooting rest seems a bit much to me. It already takes me 10 trips with all the sh_t I have already. If hauling all that lead isn't a problem and your shooting big bore stuff it may be the ticket. Just my 2 cents. BT

I don't have a Lead Sled but can see its use in zeroing and load development of medium and heavy loads.

Have not used the lead sled either but it sure would have been handy working up loads for the 300 WSM. From the bench it hurts after 15-18 shots and the lead sled would have been perfect. There is not any good reason to pound your shoulder to a pulp if you don't have to.
