I am looking for any loads for a 458 win mag using 250 grain bullets.
Looking for high velocity with 250 grain X bullet.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
edge.

Hmmm...not a lot of folks jumping in here, eh?
I don't have a .458 but do have a 45-70 and it absolutely loves RL-7. Looking at the Alliant website shows a max load of 70grs under a 300gr projo for the Mag. This would be safe to try with your 250's and should be a pretty hot number.
Wondering about your intended application? A 250gr .45 is pretty dismal in the BC area, and gets worse the faster you drive it. Probably won't be much good for longish range use and just might have over-expansion problems at close range.
Anyway, the nice thing about RL-7 is that the max loads are not compressed heavily like other powders. Most max loads with it will fill the case to the base of the bullet and are very consistant.

Thanks for the reply:)
This is not really a .458 Win Mag, but a muzzleloader project rifle.
I bought a Savage model 110 in 30-06. I pulled the barrel and put on a 458 barrel blank that I cut the breech for the Savage and made a breechplug to accept a 45acp cartridge as the primer.
Currently I am test shooting a .452 XTP sized for muzzleloading in the 458 barrel. The loads that I have tried is 70 grains of H4198. Next I'll try the 250 SST and then the X bullet, but for whitetail that may be a bit of overkill.

How is it in the accuracy department given the diff in twist rates between standard 458 and saboted loads??

charger,
I don't have enough shoots yet to determine its potential.
With a 1: 14 twist, a "standard" sabot will not work well at any high velocity. However, I have access to cnc lathes and have machined sabots from PVC for shooting 150 grain 30 caliber bullets as well as these resized pistol bullets.
I also have a 50 caliber with a 1:20 Krieger barrel that shoots 8mm bullets sub moa.
That rifle also shoots the 250 grain .452 bullets to 2700+ fps. IMO, the 45 should be able to beat that with a little less effort, since I won't need to mess with making any sabots.
