I'm looking for an HK-93 clone. Does anyone know if any were ever made?

You can pick up a CETME pretty cheap. The HK is a clone of it, I think.

Freeholder, you're not looking for .223, are you? If you want an HK clone in .308, there's:
-PTR-91, which is reported to be a fine rifle. I think they run about $800?
-CETME, which is built by Century's drunken monkeys, but has good parts (or at least, they used to. There was a period where Century was grinding the bolts to get headspace, which is a dubious practice.) I have a CETME, and my experience seems average. I had to fix a couple of build problems on mine--"not enough windage", which seems pretty common. That's because the rifle was assembled slightly crooked. Also a burr on the mag catch made some mags fall out during firing. An easy fix on that one. Once I had both fixes made, its a great rifle. Shoots 2MOA with the iron sights consistently, and has never jammed once I fixed the mag catch. Very soft-shooting for a .308, too.

The HK93 is .223
The HK91 is .308
CETME, PTR-91, Hesse, Etc are not what he is looking for.
I have a Vector 53, which is the same receiver as the 93, but with the shorter barrel. They are nice. I would buy that over the Ohio.

Thanks, guys. I was hoping for something that shoots a bit cheaper than my HK-91 clone, but it looks like the first several cases of ammo generated savings to into the purchase price.
Maybe I can find one of the Vectors used...
