1100 barrel question

Trying to help a buddy find a barrel for his "1100" so his is a 3" so I need t stick to 3" chambered barrels? and will 11-87 barrels work ona 1100 and viceversa?

If his receiver is a 3", you need a 3" barrel. If his receiver is a 2¾", you can use either 2¾" or 3" chambered barrels, but will only be able to shoot 2¾" shells.

AFAIK, 1100 barrels won't work on an 11/87, and vice versa - different gas systems.
