The worst officer shown in this thread: http://thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=184931
has attempted to file an injunction against the TV station that ran the story.

(cliff notes: motion DENIED)
I guess he really does have an attitude problem.

I missed the other thread first time out . . . pretty wild.
I'm thinking fill a complaint with the beligerant officer and maybe there will be a no knock warrant "mistake" in the middle of the night . . . . .

What does this have to do with RKBA, self defense, or firearms related legal or political articles? Once again, this has no purpose other than to bash cops. I think we all need a stiff reminder of the purpose of the forum and the FORUM RULES.

ya know, I got kicked off another board recently because I would post a lot of this stuff, I guess it really offended the LEO members, but ***, the fact that this guy still has a badge is just a testiment to how bad things really are.
bad apples, yadda yadda yadda, but for pete's sake, this guy demonstrated on camera exactly why he is a horrible cop, but for some reason HE IS STILL A COP!

Errr...cops carry firearms (firearms related)...they even occaisonally misuse them...and every now and again misuse their armed position to intimidate and even abuse law abiding citizens. (Ergo, Firearms---->Social Situations-----> Legal and Political. Not a long stretch at all. I'm not saying a majority of them, not even a large percentage of them (unless you count plain uncivil behavior as "abuse"...I don't...even though I have seen quite a large percentage of them violate simple civil discourse), but enough that decent people, LEO or not, should want the light shined on these cockaroaches.
I LIKE police officers as a group. I RESPECT police officers as a group. I don't depend on them to "rescue me" in a bad situation (last time I called about a burglary in progress it took 45 minutes to have a squad car come...but hey, I live in the sticks, and am used to taking care of myself.) But I know they have a nasty job dealing with bad people, breaking horrible news to families, and dealing with some real scumbags. For this I salute and laud those who can do the job while retaining some semblance of civilized human beings. The others need to be excised from the ranks.
When they lose their respect for the non-scumbags and abuse normal everyday working people with real complaints, then they have ceased to be hard working, decent people themselves. See if you don't feel the same way about a doctor if one of your loved ones or yourself becomes one of the 98,000 (admitted to by the JAMA) "medical misadventures" every year, and the other docs who KNOW what that one did wrong cover his ass.
This was not a "cop-bashing" in general thread, but the "bashing" of a particular bad cop. Who totes a firearm (just to stay topical) and TRIED to have actual film footage of him being an outright abusive person pulled from the air.

ziadel, even the LEOs here are fully aware that there is no perfection. What is resented is the bashing to no purpose beyond little-kid "nyah, nyah, nyah..." junk.
Now, if in this particular thread folks waited until the results of the next hearing were known, and until some action was or was not taken against that officer, discussion would make sense. Or, at least could make sense.
So keep in mind: It's not the subject matter that's the problem; not at all. It's the behavior of the posters in the theads.
So, let's try this: Somebody follow this case, and when the results are known, start a thread about it.
I'll leave this open overnight...

Wasn't this thoroughly covered in the previous thread? I don't see where it's productive to rehash an already closed thread. I also don't see that the argument was moving towards a firearms-related discussion. Seen too many lately that veer off the High Road.

I find it quite curious that one of the members with the worst behavior in the aforementioned thread is now lecturing on the board rules.

If certain topics so offend your sensibilities, it may be a good idea to avoid such discussions.

I'll leave that decision to those charged with making them. I think you're a little out of your juristiction, so to speak.

I suppose that if this is really important to you, you can always rent your own server space and post these articles to your heart's content.

Grimjaw and Pilgrim, I agree, you two couldn't be more right.

BostonGeorge,
I want to see your proof that my behavior in the aforementioned thread was the "worst." I followed every forum rule to a T, and quite frankly, your post is just another personal insult about behavior.
And for the record, this isn't about my own "sensibilities" or whatever other excuse you make up. This is about the unnecessary beating of a dead horse.
I'll leave that decision to those charged with making them. I think you're a little out of your juristiction, so to speak.
This thread is destined to repeat history, especially with your comments.

If the news had some interesting footage of you being a jerk, wouldn't you try to get it pulled?
