My local gun stores have Wolf, and we are a little off the beaten path. Of course their prices are slightly higher as they cannot compete with the online mass movers, but I don't mind it. :)

The 7x39 I ordered from Sportsman's Guide on January 16th is now backordered until March 31st, even though their site still advertises the ammo.

My local shop has MANY cases of Wolf 7.62x39 or .223 stacked against his wall. $159 per case for either caliber and your choice of FMJ or HP.

Is this stuff really that hard to find, is this a good price?

Last case I bought was 18 months ago at my local shop, I paid $99 for 1000 rounds of wolf.

Apparently supply is scarce now?????

I buy all kinds of stuff from ammoman and he is one of the best online, beside a few guys on gunbroker. Unlike some of the large online retailers...ammoman actually tells you that he is out of stock....then he send an email letting you know the stock has been re-filled and ready for orders. Picked up 2 cases my-self.....just wish he would get some of the surplus 30-06 for cheap.

Some of the Academy stores around DFW have Monarch FMJ for $3. Not the best price in the world, but not too bad given the short supply. The Fort Worth Cabelas gets Wolf in every so often, but it sells out instantly. There are more Academies around here, so it's easier to get ahold of it there.

There is a gun show in Pasadena this weekend. There was some there the last show. I'll have to stop by tomorrow morning and see.

I bought 2000 rounds at Cabelas last week in Kansas City...$64 per 500 rounds and they came in the hard plastic ammo type cans. If anyone is interested, I can check tomorrow and see if they still have some and maybe ship it.

Glad I picked up 500 rounds from Cheaperthandirt a couple of weeks ago. I go back next week (in under a week!) and its all out of stock ! :cuss:

Just stopped by the Pasadena,TX gun show. There was some 7.62X39 available. A couple guys had a little Wolf HP. One had cases available for $150 or so. Another table had a few 500 rd boxes of Winchester 7.62X39 FMJ for about $80 which is what I picked up. Same guy had some Adcom .223 and South African .308.

Lots of SKS's and Romanians around. Most of the SKS's were not at prices I would pay. I didn't look around too much as ammo was what I wanted.
