Specifically, I was wondering if there have been any Sheriffs or other LEO that ran on a pro-RKBA platform and found themselves elected?
What was their tack?
What did they do right?
What was their opposition doing against them?
Thanks...Just thinking of our rather incompetent Sheriff locally and wondering what others had seen.

El Paso County, Colorado has elected a couple sheriffs who campaigned on issuing concealed hand gun permits before the state law went into effect.
Actually, in much of Colorado, publicly taking any sort of anti-Second Amendment stance would amount to political suicide. It's another story in Denver, of course, which wants to become the San Francisco of the Rocky Mountains.

WA sent Dave Reichert to Congress after being the King County Sheriff for quite a while.

Sheriff Dan Trawicki of Waukesha county, WI is a very outspoken advocate of shall-issue CCW. He's also on the board of a number of pro-gun groups.
Both Waukesha county District Attorney Paul Bucher and US Attorney JB Van Hollen are running for WI Attorney General on a pro-CCW platform.

Awesome. I finally get to vote this year, and I'll be sure to remember these names.
I have a question. Are there any guys running for WI Attorney General that are anti-gun?

cosine, of the two candidates for AG, I think Van Hollen is stronger on the issue, and for just one reason. Paul Bucher opposed the bill back in the 2003/2004 session. Once he decided to run for AG, he changed his mind.
Granted, I'll gladly take either one over Lautenschlager or Kathleen Falk (the two Dem's).
Van Hollen, though, appears to be a real gun person. He showed up at our fund-raising shoot in Deerfield, and did a pretty good job with a borrowed Glock. He said he's a revolver guy.
When I mentioned that we were going to try to organize a subgun fund-raising shoot, he really got excited.
