Does anyone know if Remington Police model shotguns can be bought by non-LEOs? I'm interested in their Police 1187s.

Yes. Dunno where,though. In many states, used police turnins provide nice inexpensive used 870s for the market.

Pick up a copy of Shotgun News. Several firms list new Remington LE shotguns for sale. I didn't notice any restrictions regarding who they sell to as long as it's an FFL holder.

Remington says to "Contact any Remington Authorized FFL gun dealer who buys from a Remington LE wholesaler".

Not all wholesalers are Remington LE wholesalers, but you should be able to find a local FFL dealer who has a contact with one.

It's not that Remington doesn't sell or want to sell LE guns to "civilians", it's just that not all dealers buy from Remington Wholesalers, or that all Remington Wholesalers are LE wholesalers.
