The 50 BMG uppers are fine, especially if you need to save some $$ and really want a 50. The only known problem is the front pin (on the lower)bending or breaking if the upper is opened and unsupported. Email if you're interested in a 50 BMG and we'll set you up nicely.

thanks guys.
JDyer what do you mean the front pin breaks? when disassembling? or when you are shooting the gun?
I like the design and looks of an AR, with a .50 upper. the only thing I am skepticle about is the strength of the reciever. I dont mind spending the cash, I just dont want junk that will fail in a years time.
stealthmode, is 11 months the average wait time for an ALS upper? hope it works good for you. can you post a range report when you shoot it? do you know if the Bushmaster lower with the skelaton stock will work with the ALS upper? that would be a nice set up.
and I'm in Wisconsin.
thanks guys.

There's plenty of people out there with AR lowers with .50 BMG uppers, haven't heard of any of the lowers breaking.
There are other .50 BMG upper out there if you don't feel like waiting 11 months. There's the Ferret50, UltraMag50 and Ultralight50, the UM50 can be had with a 3 or 5 round detachable mag.
Darran Wardel (owner of ALS) shot first place in Hunter class two years ago at the .50 Caliber nationals in Raton.

well I think I made up my mine. I am going to give larry a call at state arms and get a rebel, in left hand bolt with the jewl trigger and a safety. he still has the best deal, comes with a bi-pod and scope mounts.
thanks for all the info guys!

when i ordered the the ALS upper it was a 4 month wait but my paperwork was misplaced so i had to wait extra long, the wait now is about 8 months if you want to order one of the ALS uppers. they will fit bushmaster lowers.
for my next one i will get the magazine fed ultra mag 50 from safety harbor.

speaking of the ultramag50...there's a group buy that might be dead or ending soon depending on the level of interest.

the Weaponeer link appears to be dead, and SHF is responding to emails, so I assume the Ultramag is not dead.
