Yugo SKS accuracy - "Bolt" or Semi?

I haven't done this yet, but I'm wondering if someone has already done the research.
Has anyone tried measuring the group size difference between using the Yugo SKS in single shot mode, vs with the gas valve turned on for normal semi? Same crummy Wolf ammo (if you can spare it these days :uhoh: )
Seems like a fun project to try...

Somewhere I did read where someone did this. As I recall they did not really see any change in groups.
There is one problem with running the rifle with the valve closed. Even though there is not enough gas to cycle the action, there is gas that does get blown into the valve. This causes a build up of powder and such in the valve causing it to seize up and not allowing you to open the valve to it's normal position. This problem was reported by several people at SKS Boards (http://www.sksboards.com/forum/)
Cheers

I can't imagine it would make any difference at all.

no change in accuracy........but shooting the rifle single shot gummed up the gas shutoff valve making it difficult to move......chris3

That's what I love about science. You have theories, you test them, and then interpret the results.
And publish...
Guess I'll find another project
