What kinds of weapons (pepper spray, knives, batons, etc.) are legal to carry there?

When I visited Spain in 2003 (Madrid, Seville) I carried a small folding knife in my pocket.

Not sure if it was legal but at least Madrid's streets were clean and everybody and their brother was up way past midnight.

I have read that Spain is one country that can issue concealed carry handgun licenses.
