I'm #1319...
but I do wish that whoever wrote the Petition had used a spellchecker. It bothers me when "amendment" is misspelled throughout the document, and there are other errors too.
The last thing we need is to reinforce the stereotype that gun owners are inbred backwoods morons. (Apologies to any inbred backwoods morons who are offended by this comment ;-)
But I sure do approve of the sentiments expressed!
Also, I feel that Mr. Bush has been "dumb like a fox" so far, and has often achieved his goal by not stating exactly what he finally will do until he actually does it. Maybe he just doesn't want the Brady Bunch to get their knickers in a knot, so he releases a statement that keeps them happy... but that doesn't mean that he will actually sign the bill in the end.
Finally, I don't think that he will ever even be presented with the bill to sign, if WE do our part well. I've been contacting (email, letter & fax) my congressional representatives- thank God one of them is supportive (Randy 'Duke' Cunningham- R. CA) but there's no hope in the Senate (Feinswine & Boxershorts) but I've written to them anyway, it can't hurt.

Anyone else wonder what this website is really doing. Think about it, they collect your name and personal information. You eagerly give them all this information. Are they in the business of selling information? What do they do with the information that you give them? Ya, I'm paranoid..

I just signed the petetion to allow the assault weapons ban to sunset. So far, 1596 signatures.
This is something we should all do.
