After seeing the thread on the General Discussion Forum here about pictures of guns with knives I got to thinking about pictures of swords with guns. Does anyone have any photos of swords with guns here?:D

Ok Lord Soth,
I saw your post and because I just got my first sword, I took some pictures this afternoon just for you! :D
Here they are:
This one is my new sword (Del Tin/Albion Armorers, Sword of St. Maurice (Turin)) along with my Bushmaster XM-15 "M4 Type" and Smith & Wesson 629 .44 Magnum.

Here's another:
Same sword with a Springfield Armory Micro Compact 1911, and a Taurus 85UL .38 special.

I can see it now... fighting off of hoards of zombies, you run out of ammunition. Out of desperation, you throw away the Bushmaster, and draw the .44 Magnum. A cylinder, 2 speedloaders, and 18 dead zombies later, you draw the Springfield .45. 3 mags later, you toss it to, and quickly flick out a folding knife, and hurl it at a charging zombie. Then, you flick of your trench coat, and draw a giant sword. OMG! Sorry, I have a writer's imagination (ie overreactive)

A Mainz-pattern gladius and a Springfield Professional.
Tamara, that is a fine-looking gladius! Where did you get it and how much? I've been looking around for a good one myself.

It's a Windlass, from Museum Replicas.
Purists (reenactors) will scream that the knurled brass nut on the pommel is not authentic and that the scabbard is a little cheesy, but it's a decent blade and has an actual polished bone hilt.

Darn. I just threw away a Museum Replicas catalog. How's the quality and ability to hold an edge on it? I don't really care what the folks at NetSword  might think about it, heehee:D as long as it can hold an edge and isn't made from tin cans.

For you Galdius lovers, here is a nice web page:

To be truthful, I haven't put an edge on mine yet. Quality appears good; the only downsides are cosmetic (some authenticity details and the brasswork on the scabbard is flimsy). The steel is decent and the price is right.
One of the reviews I saw online was a guy from a "stage combat reenactment" troupe in England griping about how the blades had become notched and saw-edged after a season of stage combat. My first reaction was to wonder that anybody on this planet thinks that banging blades edge-to-edge is somehow related to sword fighting. :scrutiny:

Thanks, Tamara! Yeah, I wonder about that blade-on-blade thing, too! I think they've seen too many movies.

Nippy, that is a positively awesome picture!!!
The contrast between an ancient, eastern edged weapon and a modern, western firearm is really cool.
Would it be asking too much for you to post some more?
What kind of Kat is that? Looks like it has a beautiful Hamon...

Thanks much:D. Was inspired by the really cool pics on this thread. I'll try to take another picture tomorrow. Truth be told I don't know what kind of Katana it is. I got it thru my Sensei who I practiced Iaido with and I use it for Iaido.
