Congrats on the SIG! I used to have a 225 that was a great pistol. I would like to get a 226 someday. What caliber did you get?

A 9mm 226 is a nice soft shooter. I shot my Brother's 226 9mm and could hardly believe how little recoil it had. Congrats again.

No there is no W Germany now, so the few we in the US get still made there are just marked made in Germany.
Most Sig's now are half German half US or all US made, the half German Sig's are marked "Frame made in Germany" the top half is made here in the US and the Sig's not marked anything as to where it was made are all US made.
You can tell what year the older Sig's were made by looking at the two letter DATE CODE, the letters should be at the bottom of the Slide at the muzzel end.
A = 0
B = 1
C = 2
D = 3
E = 4
F = 5
G = 6
H = 7
J = 8
K = 9
(Sig does not use I)
My W German marked P228 is dated KB = 91 or 1991
