Wow, that thing is a beauty. Can't believe it's only his 5th, he sure has talent.

Does your friend have a website or anything? I'd love to tell some friends about him.

Gents,

Right now he does commisioned work, just as long as you like viking or celtic style. He custom crafted all the gold and silver, forged the blade himself, etc. $1,300 and it's going to the lead drummer for a wild tribal celtic band. I think it's a good idea to get in on the ground floor with Rob since I expect he'll become a "name" in the custom knife world very soon.

Rob's website is - http://www.gunnarsanvil.com/bio.html

very nice work. does he do renaissance(i hate spelling that word) shows? i dont know what the knives are like at other shows but our michigan show is in need of a craftsman such as himself. his prices are about what i see at our renfest but the quality is way beyond most the items being sold at ours. if not maybe he should consider it...years ago i sold swords for a guy there and man did he rake in the money.

im having thoughts of buying one of his bodice dragons and modifying it into a book mark :D

ecos,

He'd be happy to make it into a bookmark for you.

You'll want to cry when you find out how long he said it took to make the bearpaw dirk. PM me if you want to be completely depressed.
