What can you tell me about SVI guns in general. Where can I find prices on them. And finally, does anyone know about the model in the following pictures. The sight on the barrel caught my eye.

It is one of their Tribrid guns, only with a non-compensated/ported version of the barrel. Normally the solid bit siticking out is full of holes.

SV basically makes custom competition guns to order. Not many models per se, you just tell them what you want, and after a long wait you get it. I have a friend who has 2 of them, they are pretty neat if you like that sort of thing. They are Price on Request, and the price is ALOT.... a cheap one is $2,000+ last I checked.

STI and SVI have come out with several innovative ideas on 1911s. If I didn't know better, I'd think they have guys staying up late just thinking up ideas that haven't been done before. ;)

The few I've shot have all been extremely top notch but as Sean insinuated, they just aren't really my thing.

They are top of the line competition guns. They ain't cheap, but they are really nice.

I've got to shoot a couple of SVIs as there are some local competitors that use them. They are awesome guns. And they will pretty much build the gun any way you want it.

Better off getting pricing direct from Strayer Voigt inc. You can build the gun at their web site or on the phone, whip out the plastic and the gun will be shipped to your favorite FFL.

STI International offers similarly innovative product both direct and through stocking dealers. Dealers do get good guy pricing, so savings are possible by purchasing via a dealer.

Gun you are looking at cost over $2K.

I just tried using their Gunbuilder program. VERY cool, but I wound up with 7 ERRORS and 4 WARNINGS. So many options I screwed up 11 times! :banghead:

I'll stick to rifles! :D
