Asked a while back on 1911 forums, but I got less than satisfactory answers.
Every single aftermarket 1911 hammer I've seen has two dainty little hooks to engage the sear. Every Para Ordnance hammer I've seen has two huge deep square notches. What's the reason for the unconventional design? Are there any pros or cons?
I'm not bashing Para, here. The trigger on my P13 is crisp and smooth. It's just that the other hammers have been making fun of mine on the playground and. . . err, nevermind;)
