I know I want one just so it can join my Charles Daly 1911! Strangely, it comes standard with the XS Express Sights. (You know, the real big one)

Can't ever go wrong with a Browning HP, and that includes most clones.

What's the street price on that puppy?

Yeah, truth be known, I think I do want one of those... so, I'll echo lendringser's question.

Charles Daly Hi Power? When did that happen?

The Daly web site says MSRP of $499.00. Looks very pretty.

Is the only .22 conversion kit that ghetto-looking one from JLD Enterprises?

Very interesting. Wonder what the street price will be. For $499, I'd just get a slightly used BHP MKIII instead, but if the street price is sub $350, it may be a nice project gun.

I like the look of the thumb safety.

What I really want though is a Stephen A. Camp range report on one of these!

According to the Daly website, it's made in the U.S. as well...interesting...

Dear heavens, that thing looks as though it has a usable thumb safety!

I've been wanting to get an Arcus. This looks a bit more traditional. Just wish it didn't have that rollmarl. Maybe they'll send Mr Camp an example to test.

I tell you one thing... they take some awfully nice pictures...Power of suggestion... it's somthin' else. :p

I want to see what Kevin McKlung's take is on these. That photo... good looking photo. The gun looks sexy as all get out...
Well... except for the name written huge across the freaking slide like a dang billboard. :fire:

If I could get one with the name smoothed off and refinished... there we go. The sights look pretty good. Tritium in there?

You can keep your Chucky D's. :barf:

Nice photos, though. And give them credit for coming up with a HP thumb safety that at least LOOKS usable. :D

If they are priced like the other Chucks I might give it a shot. Been looking for a starter high power for a while now.

That is a good looking FEG. :D

We all know CD doesn't make their own guns so the question is, who really made it? I bet it is just a overpriced FEG.

Those are my thoughts exactly. My FEG PJK-9HP has K.B.I. stamped on the right side of the slide. Guess who K.B.I. owns?

Here's a pic of my FEG. It is very similar except for the slide stop.

Unless Hungary has suddenly become part of the USA, then it isn't an FEG. The Charles Daly website says that their HP is made in the US. Of course, because they say it doesn't mean it's so, but I don't think they'd make that claim unless they could back it up.

FEG probably milled the frames and slides and sent them to CD in the States for finish work.

This isnt a problem. It looks like it has a good finish on it. No visible tool marks on the outside... at least in the model photographed that is.

I'd like to get my hands on one before I could pass any judgement.

Since Browning dropped the Hi Power from it's line, this is actually good news.

Well, it's supposed to start shipping in May, and since the MSRP is about $50 than the Daly I have, it hopefully will sell for around $350 or less.

I like the look of the real Hi-Power slide release, probably the one main reason I have not picked up a FEG, that, and that I have not seen a reasonably priced one around here ever.

Though it will have to wait until after some other purchases... :)

Yeah that could be a problem. I have a Charles Daly 1911 EFS Field Grade. It is very functional weapon, but it doesn't look as nice as the one they have pictured on their website. I'd want to see one of these HPs in my hand before I decide. The news that there is a new HP to choose from is good news. :D

Browning has not dropped the Hi Power. They still import them for FN. You can now get both Browning marked HP's and FN marked HP's and yes they are the same gun.

I would like to get a hi power sometime and at a better price than Brownings, but they've got to do something about that huge rollmark.
