It happend last year in New Orleans, and years before that in Oshkosh Wisconsin. I'm not some derranged 24 watching SHTF'er, but this does seem to be at least a mild concern of modern times. Obviously you don't want to get in a gunfight with a bunch of cops. What do you do?

comply with the guns that are of no use to me and maybe one that is, preferably the one I have the least ammo for.
The rest would be hidden and hopefully my seeming compliance would move them on their way without more searching. It means I will loose some guns but I am better to my family alive less armed or not then I am dead. Now, if they insist on searching and will find the rest then I don't know.

I think that resistance will organize long before they get to my neighborhood.

I may be able to come up with 2, 5' pieces of 6" PVC that have screw on watertight caps. I seem to remember seeing a couple in my shop. These could be buried somewhere with a fair supply of ammo. Something to think about?

If it's time to bury your guns, it's time to be digging them up.:(

I have railroad ties. I have sand. I have a drill. I have a funny shaped peice of metal to put in my "bang stick". I also have 865 rounds ready to rock. You do the math.
