Does anyone know anything about the Charles Daly Superior Hunter O/U line? Local shop had 3 ( 1 12 and 2 20s) all for $975 each, shop owner said it was the last of the italian made CDs he'd be getting since they were switching to a turkish made gun. Are these a good quality and worth the price or are they a pass? They looked and felt decent enough to me.

Oh I did some research and found out they're made by Sabatti.

Not junk, not B guns. Worth the price. Sabatti, like many Italian firms, will work to a price and you get what you pay for.

Well I liked how it looked and felt so I bought the 26" 20 gauge they had. Unfortunately I'm taking it back when he opens up again. The bottom extractor is binding somehow making it almost impossible to close.

Scott's Gunsmithing, off Thelma Ave in Glen Burnie. I know he'll make it right, either by fixing the problem or refunding the money.

They are great guns for the priced. I looked at a used one to get a feel for it. The only reason I didnt end up getting one was because I couldnt find the one I wanted new, so I got a Verona LX501.

What about the earlier Miroku guns? Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread but there is one at a local shop for about 550 or so and it is mint. It's a trap model with a nickle reciever and it is flat out gorgeous. Are these good guns? It doesn't have choke tubes but it does have some sort of odd toggle type switches on both sides of the reciever.

From the quick research I did the Miroku guns are considered the best.

If you like the Browning Citori you will like the Miroku. They are the same gun. Miroku makes them for Browning. The older Daly's were also made by Miroku. Same quality but not quite as fancy as the Citori (the ones I have seen anyway). Another Japanese gun to keep an eye out for is a Nikko (sp?). Another fine gun but not found often.

Here's a Superior Hunter for $1075. Very nice looking gun. I hadn't seen one before.

Well I had dropped it off yesterday around 2pm for Scott to work on it and like I knew he would he took care of it. I got a call around 6:30pm the same day telling me it was fixed and ready to go. So I picked it up today and just need something to break it in on. I'm thinking little orange flying discs sometime this weekend.

For those that want to know what caused the problem it seems a lug on the bottom extractor was just a little too short so it was slipping past where it was supposed to grab on the receiver.
