I Need a New Toy

I think I need a new semi-auto to play with. I don't think I can scrounge up enough cash for an AR-15 this year, I'll work on that later. I already have a Ruger Mini-30, so the SKS is out as well. Any ideas on a semi-auto fun gun to take myself and sons to the range and fire off a few hundred or more rounds just for fun? I would also like the ability to install a Red Dot sight or scope.
Thanks

FAL! :)
Or, maybe a ruger 10/22? You wont be broke after shooting 1000 rounds in one session.

I second the 10/22 idea, 550 rnds for $9 is hard to beat.

AK of some sort. Ammo maybe a problem getting a hold of right now however.

I would go with the 10/22 also. I bought one 2 days ago and i love it. I can shoot Federals, 510 for 6.80$, now thats CHEAP!

a 10/22 would be a good choice for a cheap semi-auto. also in the cheap bracket would be a hi-point 9mm carbine.
if you want to spend a little more, you could get a FAL or a Kel-Tec SU-16.
