Thanks for all your help guys! As mentioned in two threads below ("Newbie question on 58" and "Jointed cylinder pin") I have a 5 1/2" Remington 58 that after removing the loading lever screw, I couldn't get the loading lever and rammer to slide out. I took George's advice, but carried it one step further, and left the cylinder in. After removing the screw I put a popsicle stick between the rammer and the cylinder and had just started to apply light pressure when the lever and rammer popped right out. It slides in and out just fine now. The only thing I can assume is that a burr was causing it to hang-up.
Thanks for all the advice!!!

Snuffer,
Hang onto the popsicle stick.
It is excellent for smearing grease on the chamber mouths if you subscribe to that.
Darn, I thought I did say to leave the cylinder in.
Anyhoo, you got her apart, NOW, did you get 'er together?
Cheers,
George
Sorry, did leave the cylinder in. Padded with the popsicle stick. Colts are almost always popped off the arbor with the rammer and plunger. No popsicle stick. By design. Rems aren't.
Cheers,
George

George, you did say to leave the cylinder in (sorry if my explanation wasn't very clear).
Thanks Again!
