Nice nice nice!
I am currently looking for one here in Dallas. They are great old guns. I have owned two just like it and wish I still had one of them.

I bought its twin (1974 gun) a couple of weeks ago. Haven't brought myself to fire it and probably won't. Had two years ago and sold both for reasons I can't comprehend now.

N frames are just too large for me to manage well but I have always considered the M28 to be the best combination of quality and practicality S&W ever produced..,.true cultural artifacts!

The 28-2 was my first and currently only Smith revolver.
I rest under my pillow, serving as my HD gun!!!

Very nice. I am a big, big fan of the 28s because that is what I learned to shoot with, way back when I was only 8 years old. My dad recently let me "borrow" the pistol for a second defense gun. Yours looks a lot like mine, aside from mine having the red-insert front ramp, and the fact that I didn't wipe mine down before the pic. Now I just have to rack down some orignal grips.

Check out S&W's grips here:

Very reasonably priced too!

I'm looking for an M28 myself...

Sweet, I have one just like it, except mine has Herret's Shooting Stars grips.
