Watch out for profiteering on the so-called "Deck of Death" the troops are being given in Iraq. They are being sold for as high as $20/deck. You can get the same thing at http://www.greatusaflags.com for $5.95/deck or $19.95 for four decks.

Yeah, but how much would you pay for a deck with each card's bloody fingerprint? :D

Those may even be cheap copies. It doesn't mean they are the same as the ones the troops have.

apparently one of the news agencies wired a picture of the fronts of all of the cards, or a least a list of who the faces were on the fronts of all of the cards the first day these came out. There are a lot of copies floating around, but I cannot imagine a GI in his or her right mind who was issued one of these, and would subsequently trade it away. I expect we'll be seeing a bazillion of these things floating around just like the copies of the 'get out of jail free' card from SE asia that was making the rounds for all of the 70's and a good part of the 80's.

The miltary said that they only provided about 100 decks to the GIs so all the ones on Ebay have to be copies.

I have a limited amount of gen u whine decks with the autographs of all the subjects. They should bring in about $2000 a piece on EBAY but for a limited time you can purchase one or more decks for the low, low price of $39.95 plus shipping. :D

Mike Reagan at http://www.reagan.com is selling these things through NewsMAX at 14.95 and includes a 4 month subscription to NewsMAX.
The offer is at: http://www.newsmaxstore.com/nms/showdetl.cfm?&DID=6&Product_ID=1268&af_id=38
The ad includes the following:
Important: The cards offered by NewsMax are produced by the same manufacturer used by the Pentagon here in the U.S. You may see offers for other, cheaper replicas, and many of these are being made in China and India, and may take more than a month to receive. NewsMax will begin shipments shortly.
The offer at http://www.greatusaflags.com/ says this, however:
This deck is printed by the same company supplying these cards to the US Embassy in Kuwait.
My effort was to alert those who are interested in these to the ripoffs and profiteers who would gouge them for the same product. Based on most of the responses here, however, there is little appreciation of that effort. I shall refrain from any attempt at same in the future.

I had to laugh when I got an e-mail in my inbox offering "genuine replicas" of the playing cards..... Then I stopped laughing when I realized that most of the people they sent that e-mail to would not see the problem.
