Arsenal arms AK. Are they worth it?

I've been wanting to get a nice AK in 7.62X39. I don't want one of the inaccurate "minute of broad side of the barn" ones either. I dont expect match grade accuracy but I'd like to be able to put rounds on target at 250 yards if I'm doing my part.

In looking around I see people recommend Arsenal AKs all the time but they seem to cost more than a decent AR! Are they really worth that much money or are they just hyped a lot?

Along with the Vepr, Arsenal AK's are about at the top of the heap. You pay for the extra time taken in assembly, the higher-quality components used, and (to a certain extent) the marketing involved. I'd pay that money without a qualm. The alternative (which I'm following) is to buy a high-quality basic gun, such as a Saiga, and have it fitted with the bits and pieces you want. You may end up spending more than you would for an Arsenal, but the gun will be customized to your tastes. YMMV.

Arsenal is about as good as AK's get.

The milled receiver models "usually" will group within 2" at 100 yards, and thats Match accuracy for an AK.

The Arsenal's are built with higher quality Bulgarian made parts, including the famous Bulgarian hammer-forged barrels.
The Bulgarians bought hammer-forging technology and machines from the Steyr company of Austria, and these hard chrome lined barrels are the best ever used on an AK.
Reportedly, a Bulgarian barrel is rated for AT LEAST 20,000 rounds for barrel life, and I've heard that was in full-auto, so in semi-auto they last about forever.

I've never heard of a Arsenal buyer having any trouble or being unsatisfied.
AK rifles are on the "junky" end of the gun world, but the Arsenal is the Cadillac of them.

The Arsenals are more expensive, but you get the best for your money.

I admit that the last time I handled an Arsenal AK, I was amazed at the quality, fit, and finish. If you have the money, they are definately terrific AK's.

I just topped an Arsenal (last of the Bulgarian-made milled rec's) with an
Aimpoint. Will let y'all know what it does.....

Arsenals are good guns. Or like Preacherman said, you can get a Vepr, (heavy, but them most accurate) or you can have someone customize a Saiga for you. Those are the best AKs out there, with my personal preference being on the Russian guns.
