Just minutes ago, the Kansas House voted 90 yes and 33 no to a CCW for Kansas. It meets with a certain veto from Sebellius. Lets flood her with requests for passage and let her think about her own political future. Steve 48

Why is your governor hellbent on vetoeing this?

Assuming Kansas has a 2/3rds super majority requirment, it sounds as though you've got some padding above and beyond what you need for a veto-override.

It looks as though you could lose eight votes and stil override.

How is/did the senate shape up? Are you over 2/3rds there?

When it comes to veto's, the margin seems to disappear if the legislature is not pressured and they "melt" to the party line. The governor claims to be pro gun rights but only allows retired police officers to carry concealed. She said that "police officers would have to be afraid of everyone they stopped could be carrying a firearm" and that's why she veto'ed the last bill in 2004. Its pretty flimsy but that's what she said. Steve 48

Leftist extremists don't have reasons. They have prejudices.

It's not a prejudice, it's an agenda. Much more dangerous.
