Since all of us have opinions on firearm quality and accuracy, I was curious if anyone on this forum actually produces a name brand firearm. Maybe get some hot scoop or upcoming info from someone on "the floor".

I need to find out more details; but my father worked at the Springfield
Armory producing Garand parts early in WW2. I believe he attended
a milling machine. He quit that job; but later found employment as a B-24
pilot.

That's interesting, because with employment in the weapons building field during the war, he would have been deferred from enlistment. He definately served in a hazardous field, flying B-24's.

I have a friend who works for a computer hardware parts developer which is very well known if you keep up with current video games. He has signed a NDA so he cannot discuss products that are under development, even when they are open secrets, until his company announces them. I imagine that it might be the same way. Granted, the firearms industry is probably nowhere near as cutthroat (you can only produce so many variations of the 1911 and AR, and everyone knows how they work, while a new graphics card or central processor's design is more unique), so the NDA might not be as harsh.

Its been a few years ago but I did have a summer job working at Knight Rifles. They create some of the better known muzzleloaders. The factory is about 12 minutes away from my house in Centerville, IA.

It was your typical job - I worked in the metal shop. Deburring rifles, cleaning up welds, etc.....fairly lame job really. The discount TOTALLY ROCKED....but I was never into muzzle loaders so it didnt do me any good. I did buy a couple just because I thought if I worked there I should own one or two.

I bought "overstocks" when they made them available. A kit with everything but the powder including an entry level gun ran something like $80......cant beat that.

i always wondered if there were manufacturers lurking in the online gun forums, trying to find out what people want to buy. i would assume so, these forums have a huge concentration of thier target buyers from all over the place.
