Detectives said that the case is still under investigation and that the Cumberland County district attorney would decide whether to file charges against Strickland.

They'll probably arrest her instead of give her a medal.

It seems that they always throw in the part about charging the victim just so us common folk don't get no hairbrain idea in our little heads that we have any right to shoot a violent, armed intruder who bashes in the door of our home. We can't be let'n anyone think that now can we. You have a right to be a victim but not to defend your home. She won't be charged if the facts are right. They just got to get that in.

Moral of the story:

"DON'T MESS WITH MAMA!!!!"

It just might be the last mistake you ever make.

I thought this story was great! My wife (who's an anti) said "good for her" when the news story came on...oh, this is kinda local for me. I then said, I would like you to at least learn to shoot my pistol.

I then said, you would probably never have to use it, but it's good to know how just in case...and probably that woman probably never thought she'd have to use it either, but because she did, her two children are ok!

And as the kicker, my wife was due to give birth to our second child in a day or so (we just got back from the hospital!).

Anyway, this story and the timing may have been the perfect thing to get my wife off the "guns are bad" attitude!
