CDNN has some cheap red dots and scopes that I've found are pretty good, although you may need to add some loc-tite to the screws that hold the battery compartment to the tube. I suggest starting with a cheap scope or red dot on a handgun to see which you prefer, you may not like either if your eyesight is still good :) If you what to start near the top, I've a silver Leupold 4X handgun scope I'd be willing to sell -- turned out I didn't like scopes on a handgun, expensive mistake buying quality first. The cheap red dots work for me.

Cheap red dot is what you want. I have one on my S&W22a1 and it's absolutely fantastic fun.

Well, I had one like that (a black one - top photo) on my Trailside for a while and it worked just fine. It now sits on a pellet gun because I have a different red dot on the Sig (bottom photo).
