can someone explain exactly what's involved in a "trigger Job" and how much iddference would one make on my XD9SC?

Go here: http://www.hs2000talk.com/index.php

You will find many threads specifically devoted to trigger jobs on the XD series of guns.

Search for "Canyon Creek" when you get there. Rich is apparently the best at it.

Depending on the gun, it usually means replacing springs with lighter ones to reduce the pull weight, and/or polishing the friction-bearing surfaces (the parts that rub together) to make the trigger smoother and more consistent throughout the pull. Also may include reducing the take-up and overtravel.
