Does anyone make a decent tactical-type hand-held flashlight for under $50? I would love a SureFire but can’t afford one. Thanks… Gary O <><

Surefire makes the G2, which has a Nitrolon body, but is otherwise the same internals as their metal-body tactical flashlights. It doesn't have the circumferential grip-ring for the Rogers method, but I bet it wouldn't be hard to find a rubber O-ring to fit securely for that use. It goes for about 35 bucks. It's the one Parruthead is talking about.
I have one; it's a fine flashlight. Also, I have seen many flashlights similar to the Surefire at gunshows that are less than $50.

$36 will get you a Surefire G2 Nitrolon (polymer body, 65 lumens of light (standard brightness for most tac lights)) and 6 extra batteries ($15 value) at LAPoliceGear.com (http://www.lapolicegear.com/sug2ni.html). The best deal I've found so far.

Streamlight Scorpion. 65 Lumens for $30-$40, depends on where you get it. It takes 2 CR123A Lithium batteries with a run time of about 1 hour.

Garrity is a made in USA co.
they make a small handheld 1Watt LED, very concentrated (spotlight) beam. Cross someones eyes in the dark, anywhere in 50Ft and when they can see again a nice piercing headache should follow..
bout $15 bucks... any WalMart or FleetSupply...
Ive got lots of lights.... But these are superior to many "Tactical" flashlights!
Always one on my hip.

Brinkman Maxfire available at Walmart for $20 is a copy of the $35 Surefire G2.
Cabela's has pretty good deals on the 123 batteries by the dozen.
If that's not cheap enough, you could try an oil soaked rag on a stick ...:p

email Calvin for surefire prices well below MAP. He has great prices and customer service. You should be able to get a 6P for less than $50 from him.

Surefire G2 Nitrolon is a $35 proposition. You can find online retailers who will sell the Surefire 6P for less than the retail $56.
Surefire is the best, today. Tomorrow, someone may beat them like Surefire beat Maglight. But, today, Surefire is the best.
