It's LED (3W Luxeon) and so kinder to batteries, should never have to replace a bulb in normal use, has two brightness levels, first click is 'low beam and second is 'high beam.' It's plenty bright for me. Full review for this is at http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/nuwai_tm301x3.htm .

Lots of good lights out there. SF G2, or a 6P are in your budget. Myself I carry a Streamlight TL-2 daily.
Another to check out if you're really on a budget is the Brinkman Maxfire. They use SF compatible bulbs from what I hear, and they're like $20 w/ batteries at Walmart.

Sam's club sells a 2-pack of LED flashlights for about $25, I think the brand is called "Element". They are about surefire size and pretty bright (35 lumens). They run on 3 AAA batteries, and they are made of metal, not plastic.
They are my wife and my "carry" lights now.
