Clear party positions on issues?

The Consitution Party has a clear webpage on where they stand on the issues:
http://www.constitutionparty.com/party_platform.php
We call for the rescinding of all executive orders, the prohibition of any future executive orders, and the prohibition of treaty ratification which would in any way limit the right to keep and bear arms.

So does the Libertarian Party:
http://www.lp.org/issues/issues.shtml
Rather than banning guns, the politicians and the police should encourage gun ownership, as well as education and training programs. A responsible, well-armed and trained citizenry is the best protection against domestic crime and the threat of foreign invasion. America's founders knew that. It is still true today.

Do the Republican or Democratic Parties have such clearly defined positions available?

No.
They are too busy doing double-speak.

The clearly delineated issues are one of the reasons that people with integrity have trouble getting elected.

if you think the democrats and republicans are big spenders... just wait til I get elected

every citizen not in the top tax income bracket will get a suppressed full-auto P90
convicted felons and children can't be trusted with full-auto and will be given PS90s instead
i'll add a prescription ammo benefit to medicare: 1000 rnds of ss190 each month for retirees and veterans
no child will be left behind: to receive federal funds, each school must build and operate a rifle range, open to the public of course

vote TALIV '08!!!

No, but at least they can get elected. Actually the GOP dropped any mention of guns in the 2004 platform. I watched some of the proceedings, and they seemed more concerned with religious expression than anything else...the party of traditional values, blah blah. It is still better than the Democrats, but it's not like anybody is pandering to gun owners. What would help is to have a platform delegate to represent the gun issue. But it's not like the platform really means anything or that anyone remembers it after the election.

Note that platforms are put together before conventions and published sometime afterward. That is to say that a party can redefine itself every four years, so you have to pay attention. It just has no effect on what anyone actually does. No one is sworn to uphold it.

Of course the Dems and Repubs don't have clearly defined positions. If they did then they might have to defend their positions, or be held accountable for their ideas and actions.

Besides, if they did have published, well-defined platforms, then they couldn't change their opinions when the mood swung against them or when changing their opinions suited their plans for (re)election.

The Repubs and Dems are concerned only about one thing... themselves.

I can't accept the Libertarians' pro-drug stance. They will not get my vote.

WT, just as a "what if", who would you vote for if both parties went way leftist?

Neither party is clear on issues, they arnt even clear on following the constitution anymore. Its getting to a point where you have to pick which tyrant sounds less restrictive on the particular rights you care about.
Too many people dont know what their party stands for and I doubt the politiicans have any interest in changing that. They would just lose votes by explaining their positions.

Well, it dosnt involve me anyway.
In the U.S. Virgin Islands we dont get a presidential vote and our congress critter is neuterd, so please choose wisely for those of us on the fringes :banghead:

The Libertarian platform isn't "pro-drug". No one in the LP promotes, advocates or condones drug use.

The LP IS in favor of repealing the current failed, rights-robbing, obscenely expensive, no-end-insight, govt and drug cartel fueled, anti-drug policy that we're pursuing now and replacing it with a system of legalization, regulation, taxation and treatment.

The Republicrats and Democans have positions like dogs have fleas. The difference is that fleas are more useful and predictable.
