A friend of mine who lives in Boise had a replica blackpowder Colt, not sure whether Navy, etc. In any event, he has yet to fire the revolver.

I will be going up to visit for his 60th birthday the first week of May and would like to get him out to a local range where we can find plenty of other blackpowder handgunners to give him the information/training he needs.

Along the same line, where can propellent, bullets and other required pieces be purchased in the Boise area?

sportsmans warehouse has a bunch of blackpowder stuff, it's located right outside of boise. As for a range I don't know, theres enough open space around here I don't think a lot of people bother with ranges

There is a really good range just east of Boise called Blacks Creek Range. They great facilities and are open on thursday, friday, saturday, sunday and monday. www.blackscreekrange.com. You need to check the calender on the site because they have a lot of events that make it so the public can't shoot that day unless they enter in the event.
