Plunked down $575.00 for a new Beretta AL 390 today. Just like my 1911's and my Springfield XD's it fits just fine. It might not blast as many clays as a real $2,400.00 beginners gun:rolleyes:but we'll give it a whirl. Thanks to everyone for their advice and recommendations.

BTW, it's funny how this sport can warp the senses. When I started, I was buying shells by the box and thought $750 for a gun was outrageous. Today, I wrote a check for nearly $1200 in shells... and those probably won't even last until the end of the year.

Truer words are rarely spoken. What I thought was unjustifiable and outrageous ten years ago is now quite acceptable. ;)

Jim, great choice on your first gun. If you get the clay target bug you'll look back on this thread years from now and think $2,400 really isn't all that much.:D
