I have a thing for old .32 pocket pistols. You might even say that I collect them. I recently traded a Browning BDA .380 for beautiful, Nazi-marked 7.65 mm CZ-27. I had never fired one of these before, but I did today and I was pleasantly surprised.

It was .32 day for us at the range today. My son and I took six .32 ACP pistols for an extended target practice run. The lineup consisted of a:

Colt 1903
Savage Model 1907
Beretta 1935
French-made Walther PP
Remington 51
CZ-27


We went through two boxes each of WWB, S&B, and Reminton UMC. The WWB was some stuff I was using up. I bought about a half dozen boxes of it at Wally World and I'm not happy with it. It is under powered for use in a blowback action pistol. We had many FTF(eed) with the WWB. It just didn't have enough sack to cycle the action (more so with my 12 year-old son, although he got better when I showed him how to stiff-arm his grip to help the recoil happen).

.32 Pocket Pistols are not known for their accuracy. They are also not helped much by the sights that are on these guns. The CZ was an exception.

This was our first time shooting the CZ-27, and it easily unseated the Reminton 51 as my most accurate .32 pocket pistol. My best group was a little under 1-1/2" at about 15 yards. My son did even better (he's not a coffee drinker) if you discount a single called flyer.

The little CZ was pretty impressive. I'd be interested to read about anybody's experience with this pistol.

I have one. Excellent gun, especially when you consider it's about as old as my grandparents (i.e. 70-odd years). It was ureliable at first, but after a Wolff spring kit switchout, it is fairly reliable and very accurate. I've been looking high and low for a replacement grip screw, though (lost one at the range).

I beg to differ, .32 acp pistols, especially Walther PPs were regularly used to win European Handgun Matches.

In most cases shot side by side, the .32 acp will outgroup an identical pistol in caliber .380 acp.

Don't sell your wonderful collection of pocket guns short, they are better than that.

I have fired two CZ-27 pistols.
No offense meant when I say I was not extremely impressed by either one.
Even less so by the WW2 German procurement specimen.
The Pre war Czech pistol was much better fit and finished.
Nothing really wrong with it either.
It shot well and reliably, it just didn't grab my fancy.

I have tried to locate original magazines for these pistols on a couple of occasions without any luck.
Triple K magazines suck, we tried them and they suck, spend the extra money and buy originals.
The Czech gunmakers know how to make a good pistol magazine.
If you know a potential source, I would like to be privy to the information.

I bought a Nazi-marked 7.65 mm CZ-27 as my first handgun for $60.I even reload for it:eek: it is a very straight shooter:D

Murphster - thanks, but I think it's just a listing of parts. I'm pretty sure grip screws for such an old gun are not stocked by pretty much anyone.

Maybe I could take a screw and cut it down or something to fit? I'm only interested in securing the grip to the frame, not in any collector value or anything.

I purchased a cz 27 32 acp about a month ago, it has on the left side of the slide Ceska ZBROJVKA-NARDONI PODNIK under that is the word STRAKONICE. On the frame is the number 47 in a circle and on the front of the trigger guard is some kind of stamp that I cannot quite make out. How do I find out how old this gun is and how would I go about tracking its history? Its also chrome

This is one of the two CZ calibers that I don't own and I've been looking for a good example for a while--along with a good shooter in .380 other than a CZ 82.

I picked up a CZ 45 in .25 ACP back in October making it my 12th CZ. Please post some pics of your 27's!
