I am an auto guy but for those days where my 1911 is just too hard to hide I have been looking for something smaller. I love the .45 but I figure a .38+P HP would stop about any BG. I have looked at the smaller 1911's but reliabilty seems to be an issue with most of them. So I found a couple of S&W 638 revolvers at a local gunshop for $389 ea.

What are your thoughts on this for an everyday Carry weapon?

The 638 would be a decent pocket
carry piece.If you can try the
trigger pull first.S&W sent me a
638 has a replacement for a 38-2
that suffered a cracked frame.
The trigger was one of the worst
i've tried on a J frame.Hard and
very gritty,it seems you have a
50/50 chance of getting a decent
tigger on a new J frame.The one
on my 642-2 was very good out of
the box and has gotten better by
firing 400rds thru it.
