A state of denial no more

Well, I just done it, dadgummitt. For the first time ever, tonight I bought a pair of jeans that are bigger around than they are long!
Moved up to 33-32. The old 32-32s "boot cuts" are still OK for ankle carry, but the pistola has got to feeling too much like a WEDGE lately and something had to give for IWB ...
It was one thing years ago to buy bigger-sized pants and belts for "always carry" purposes, but this turning 50 and slowly but surely getting rounder and shorter takes some mental adjustment as well ...
A diet maybe? Naaaaa ... :) ' Got plenty of draw-string shorts - with elastic waistband - for the upcoming summer. :D

I wear 34-32, about an inch bigger in the waist than I need them so I can fit my 1911 in 'em. Nothing wrong with being bigger around than tall, I'm 6'+ and I still look skinny even though my beer drinking is starting to catch up to me!

There seems to be a lot of that going around.
For you younger guys: If you think pushing forty is bad, wait 'till you start dragging it! :D

Allow me, please, to recommend the famous Häagen-Dazs diet. I'm still wearing 32-32 jeans in my middle fifties, and that's with room for a small .357 magnum.

I remember when the waist exceeded the inseam the first time! :uhoh: A moment on the lips, a lifetime on the hips. Still trying to get back to something more reasonable. Here's more, my bride now weighs more than I did on our wedding day 29 years ago!

Try 30w30leg to 40w30leg and shaped like an inverted pear. Pants fall down without suspenders. I cant tighten my belt tight enough to stay up, its like Im greased. Almost mooned the neighbors last fall, I would have but they werent in their front yard, nearly pulled a muscle getting straightened up and pulling up pants.

I take after a relative, that never really gained weight, kept all his hair with very little gray...everybody hated him. I must.
I just turned 48, still wearing 33/33 jeans. I don't like to shop so about 15-18 years ago I bought all they had in my size,Though over the years my stock is getting low--I still wear 33/33 jeans.
Just now a bit of gray in the mustache, I wear it long and bushy, trimmed up, probably wouldn't show any.
My sibs , well , they can't say the same, we don't even look related, yep they hate me...probably for other reasons too.
Then there are those that just hate me period. ;)
right at 6' , been b/t 165 and 170 # so long its boring, last time I owned scales I was married...been awhile...just one less thing to NOT stub a toe in the bathroom.

Well, I just done it, dadgummitt. For the first time ever, tonight I bought a pair of jeans that are bigger around than they are long!Unfortunately, I did that several years ago. Just remember, gettin' old sucks -- but it sure beats the alternative:eek:

Thanks y'all (that's Texan for you all, ya know) for the moral support - and grins.
' Guess I'm trying not to be like some of the little old ladies back when I worked part-time in a department store during high school. When other clerks took a break, I would sometimes get stuck working in the shoe department. Some of those women swore that they wore a size 7, but a 9 1/2 sure did fit good ...
For the past month or so, I've been experimenting with a new Kahr PM9 and new Bianchi Pro 100 holster for it. After all that money and it still not feeling "just right", I figured why not try throwing $30 at a new pair of jeans ...
Thus far, the absolute most comfortable positioning for days when I'm mostly sitting or driving a lot is working out to be with the muzzle around 4:30 and the butt forward. For that though, I had to get a local leather shop to do an "add on" to another holster (much cheaper and actually for lefties) to keep the sharp edge on the base plate of the 6-round magazine from sometimes biting my little "love handle" that has also appeared down there. ;)
Before going to a 34" waist, I might just have to go back to the old j-frame that has a softer, rounder butt. Whew, that sounds semi-nasty ... but is as simple, yet descriptive as I think I can make it.

I have a pair of pants with a 34" waist and 34" inseam. I can only wear them when carrying two guns IWB because my 32" waist won't hold them up otherwise.
You know how they say there's always one guy that has open his big mouth? I'm that guy today!:neener:

Back to the gym I go.:o God, you guys that are thin and still eat everything you want, make me puke.:banghead:
