Winter 12ga reloading done, sorta.....

Out of shot, and hulls. Good place to be really:D :D

Loaded the last 4 bags of shot I had tonight, one ounce loads too so the loader arm is tired. When your press is dumping down a chute into a big box, like 2 feet cubed, pay attention or you have to off load some to move it :scrutiny: Don't ask me how I know, or at least don't ask how many times I have tested it LOL, and I will be darned if the result is not the same every time!

I have more shotgun shells than I care to admit loaded and ready to go now. I really don't know how many but it is a lot, over 8000 for sure and likely closing in on 10K :what: I should be able to shoot on that the entire summer and into the fall, I don't shoot like I used to so the shells last quite a while anymore. If they get me to the hunting seasons I would be happy.

I am happy to report that the Mec 9000G is working as well as the day I brought it home, it is an outstanding value. Are there better presses? Sure. Is there more press for the dollar on the market? I really doubt it. Mine has well over 100K loaded on it and I have replaced NOTHING, not even the little wimpy plastic wad guide. I can bust an anvil with a plastic spoon too, the MEC is tough, and make great ammo. I might just bore you all with pictures when I get my digital camera back from the doctor........

20 gauge is another story. I have less than 3000 loaded for 20 gauge. I have about 1800 20 gauge hulls that are needing filled, but I have no suitable powder on hand for them. Trying to balance pistol (45, 9mm, 38sp, 357 mainly) and 20 gauge in the loading books, looking for clean in both and reasonable economy. WSF is great in the 20, and decent in the pistols, but looking for something better if it is out there. Any suggestions? Will likely go to International Clays, it is magic in the 20 for target loads but I have not loaded any pistol with it. Longshot is some great stuff but I tend to keep loads light for practice.

Who else is an ammo hoarding freak of a shooter?:neener:

Good job,H,and thanks for the T&E on the 9000G.

My own setup and consumption are more modest. I use the MEC 600,and maybe a case weekly. More often it's only 100 shots, but that'll soon change.Wife goes to her new job Monday! Once money loosens up, I'll move up to a MEC progressive.

As for powders, can't help you. Only used Clays and Unique for shotshells, and stopped reloading metallics 10 years ago for lack of time.

Might have to alter my Mantra.

Make Ammo/Use Up/Repeat....
