Is anyone using one of the lights mentioned in the title? I'm thinking of the 974, specifically. If you're using one, have you had any problems?

If this is the one I am thinking of, a bezel joined to a body with a funny looking "L" shaped piece, I have used one before.
Did not own it, but the owner liked it, never had problems that he mentioned.
I liked it, but I prefer a 951/961 in a LaRue mount, so I can reach the tailcap button with my thumb.
Not a bad unit if in good condition and the price is right, mounts to any front sight base.
The tape switches tend to get mushy after a lot of use, check the cord for wear too, it can be replaced if necessary.

Everyone is going to the offset ones molded into handguards, ones mounted with VFG or ones mounted on a rail and offset but I prefer something between the front sight and the barrel and this is really the only one that currently fits the bill. I just don't see them, anymore.
