Back from Tony at Tromix, its the mall ninja AK. Ace front site, Ace skeleton folder, krebs quad rail, PK-AS sight, AR-10 threads. Its an Arsenal milled gun originally.

Wicked, very smooth rifle. Good choice on caliber, too. I've been admiring a lot of his work lately. His .308 saiga conversions with the G3 sights are impressive.

Do let us know how it shoots and handles. Looks like a champ!

(PS- Please include range pics for us poverty stricken folks.)

Very, very nice. A little more upscale than mine but same general principle. The PK-AS is rad and I love the Bulgy polymers. I got an ACE folder on mine as well but couldn't afford the Krebs quad-rail so I went with TDI and a SOG VFG. Mine is still awaiting funds for muzzle threading and Gun Kote. Nice shooter. Love the AKs.

Tony Rumore is an evil genius. My 8 inch 12 gauges arrived yesterday. I need to get some pictures taken.

I just went and played with them at lunch.

Oh. My. Gosh. Coolest guns ever. :D :D

It is a 8 shot 12 guage that is the same OAL as an MP5. Tony's muzzle brake is evil. Pure unadulterated evil. It isn't just a stand off for breaching, it is a compliance device. The work he does on the gas system is awesome. Got one with regular sights, and one with HK diopters. So very very cool.

After playing with the 8s, the 12 inch felt like a huge gun. :p

"AR-10 threads" elaborate? Is the barrels muzzle threaded to accept AR-10 flash hiders/supperssor?

5/8ths 24tpi, yes

Getting AK threaded accessories (especially a suppressor) is a pain in the ass.

That is the nicest "tactical" style AK I've ever seen. Very smooth, he really pulled it off. So how does one go about getting this done?

www.tromix.com Email him and tell him what you want done and he will tell you how much. His prices are reasonable and his work is incredibly clean and high quality. He also did my saiga conversion.

Btw, this gun originally had the AK front triangle blade sight and pinned muzzle brake. Tony cleaned it up so well you cant tell the barrel had anything attached to the end.

Quad rail was from Krebs Custom
Grips were from TDI
Folder and front sight were from Ace Ltd USA
PK-AS was from freedomoptics.com

I desperately want some high cap saiga 12 mags if anyone gets any leads.

Assuming he does the rifle caliber SAIGA conversions available at www.fbmginc.com, would you happen to have a picture of any of those? I have not seen any pictures at www.fbmginc.com except for the 12guage.

IZ-134 conversion etc..

Beerslurpy, just out of curiosity, why would you move your front sight back? It seems with sight radius being in such high demand with an AK, that would be that last thing you would do.

To clear room for the primary chamber of a suppresor.

Also a moved back sight is easier to see than the stock notch (it doesnt fill it up completely black-on-black), and it is only a backup for the optics.

MD, Tony posts tons of pictures over on www.saiga12.com's forums.

I don't have a good source of 10 round shotgun mags yet. I'm still waiting for the domestic produced ones, and between the 3 different manufacturers, I have 500 on order.

Right now on my wall I've got the following Tromix guns. 8 inch 12 with HK diopter sites, 8 inch 12 with regular sites, 12 inch 12, several .223s, fixed and folding, several .308s, fixed and folding, and a couple of 7.62x39s.

You guys know I'm an AK fanatic. Honestly, Tony's AK stuff is the best AK stuff I have ever seen in my life. His work is amazing.

How well does the HK peep work? Repeatable zero after dust cover removal? If his work is that notable, I'll definitely have to keep him in mind down the line when I can afford my 'cadillac' AK.

I saw a picture that showed how he had to fill in the gap left by the removal of the rear sight leaf, had a lot of attention to detail.

Have you patterened the 8" Saiga yet?

I never heard of this. I want like 5-10 of them.

Have you gotten ahold of prototypes yet? What is your opinion of the plastic and metal ones, relatively speaking?

I haven't seen the mags yet. Sadly.

Chris, haven't patterned it, or shot it. We got these in NIB to sell to customers, but the damn things have been up there taunting me. Daring me to go shoot them. :p

On the HK sights, I have not used them yet, only looked at them on the gun. They are mounted directly to the dust cover. Tight dust covers don't shift zero anything noticiable. I do have some Krebs sights on a Vepr, and they have been awesome. If you've got any question about the HK sights, you should probably just e-mail Tony and ask him.
