,... and I'm a bit confused as to which one was broken in my thread "Peace activism carries the death penalty in Israel", which caused it to be closed by Preacherman.

I used no foul language,... I verbally attacked no one who responded to my thread,.. I made points and provided documentation to back up my thoughts and perspectives on the matter.

All in all, I find it a little more than odd that it was closed. I encourage any of the moderators to read through the thread, then read through the rules of conduct, and tell me which one of the rules that I broke on this forum which claims to encourage people to voice their thoughts about firearms or civil liberties.

My thread was about the deaths and attacks of some western activists in Israel. It would seem to me that some of their civil liberties had been violated.

It's a Zionist conspiracy to control the American people and use them to dominate the world. Or maybe they felt it was too controversial and disrupted the harmony of the board, who can say?

Looks like the thread doesn't deal with firearms much at all. Probably a combination of comments that were made and being OT, but I'm not Preacherman and I don't claim to know his mind.

I think the post was closed because it was heading in a bad direction. But don't take my word for it, you should PM a moderator with your questions.

As I mentioned, the rules of conduct specifically allow for discussions of firearms and civil liberties. Discussing the deaths of American citizens at the hands of foreigners absolutely deals with ones civil liberties.

And there's many threads currently running which deal with neither. There's even a thread about Madonnas new video, for Petes sake,...

I think the post was closed because it was heading in a bad directionAnd John G gets the coconut! That's exactly why it was closed. When it begins to veer in the direction of personal name-calling, no matter how innocuous it may appear, moderators have learned the hard way that it's time to close it down before things get out of hand. I would guess that of the members we've had to warn or ban, well over two-thirds were because of posts in such threads that had gone too far.

Also, please don't second-guess moderators by trying to debate their decisions in public. By all means PM or e-mail us with comments or opinions: we value the feedback, and we can learn from your input and avoid making mistakes (yes, we do make 'em, from time to time, strange though this may sound... :D ). We're here to help keep discussions, threads and general conduct on The High Road.

That said, discussion closed.
