1911tuner I checked my extractor tention by removing the slide from my gun and placing a live round up under the extractor against the brechface. Upon doing this I shook the slide and the round droped slightly but diddn't fall out,but it wasen't held in place so tight that it coulden't move at all. So does this mean my extractor is tentioned properly? The gun is a late production (2005) colt NRM 1991A1 which has the barstock extractor,FWIW I've never had any malfuntions with this gun. Thanks tuner for any help with this.

Sounds about right. Since you haven't had any problems, I'd say that it's good do go.

Thanks tuner I forgot to mention the round drops slightly after I let it go after sliding it up under the extractor, before I shake it is it still good to go? I had some feeding issues last week with some winchester personal protection jhp's I think it may have been the ammo,it would jam at the base of the feedramp. Tuner isn't it true that even new modern 1911's that are throated from the factory won't feed certain jhp's? I've never has any issues with hydra shocks or golden sabers. Just double checking is all I just thought maybe this ammo feeding issue may have been an extractor issue?
